Instagram is a social media platform that has millions of users worldwide, with likes being a crucial element of the platform. While receiving likes on Instagram can boost your self-esteem, there may be situations where you may not want others to see how many likes your posts have. This may be due to personal reasons or privacy concerns. Fortunately, Instagram offers an option to hide likes on your posts. Here’s how to hide likes on Instagram.

Step 1: Open Instagram

Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.

Step 2: Go to your profile

Tap on the profile icon at the bottom right of the screen.

Step 3: Open the settings

On the right corner of the screen, tap on the three horizontal lines to open the settings menu.

Step 4: Select the Settings button

Scroll through the menu until you see the Settings button and tap on it.

Step 5: Select Privacy

From the list of options, choose Privacy.

Step 6: Select Posts

On the Privacy page, select Posts.

Step 7: Choose who can see your likes

You will see an option to “Hide Like and View Counts”; toggle the option and ensure it is turned on. Instagram gives you the option to choose who can see your likes; either everyone, only your followers, or no one.

Step 8: Post

After following these steps, when you post a new photo or video, your followers will be unable to see the number of likes the post has. The likes of your posts will be visible only to you.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
