Spread the love

Letterboxd is a social network for movie enthusiasts which allows users to track, review and discuss films. The platform is an incredibly helpful tool for cinephiles since it allows them to organize their movie watchlist, keep track of the movies they’ve watched and discover new films to watch. The following are tips and tricks to help you take full advantage of Letterboxd.

1. Rate every film you watch: It may seem trivial, but rating a film keeps your diary of films up to date and rank your films to see which ones are your favorites.

2. Write reviews: Instead of simply clicking the rating, take a few seconds to explain why you love or hate a specific film. While it is not required, reviews can be a good way to express your opinion and engage with other Letterboxd users.

3. Follow other users: Letterboxd works like other social media platforms, so following other users who share your cinematic interests can help you find new films and discussions to join.

4. Join groups: The platform offers groups to join, focusing on specific topics, genres, and themes. Joining groups can help you connect with fellow cinephiles and participate in discussions.

5. Use the ‘Watchlist’ feature: If you find a film that looks interesting, add it to your watchlist to keep track of it. This feature helps you keep track of the movies you want to see and ensure that you don’t forget about them.

6. Explore lists: You can discover new films by exploring movie lists created by other users or by the Letterboxd team. These lists can range from “Essential Films” to “Films Directed by Women”, giving users a wide range of options to explore.

7. Add friends: Your friends on Letterboxd can be people you know personally, but they can also be people you’ve never met who share your love for film. Having friends on the platform makes it possible to send and receive movie recommendations.

8. Create lists: Creating lists helps organize and categorize favorite films. You can organize your favorite films by actor, director, genre, theme, or any other criteria which may inspire you.

In conclusion, Letterboxd is an excellent social network for movie enthusiasts to engage with fellow cinephiles, discover new films, and track their movie viewing habits. Following these tips and tricks can help users get the most out of the platform and make their movie watching experience enjoyable.
