Google Assistant is a powerful AI-driven assistant that can perform various tasks such as setting reminders, managing your schedule, or controlling your smart home devices. However, some users may find the feature intrusive or simply prefer not to use it. If you’re one of those users, here’s a quick guide on how to turn off Google Assistant on your device.

1. Disable Google Assistant on Android

On Android devices, Google Assistant is built-in and can be easily turned off by following these steps:

– Open the Google app on your phone

– Tap on the More tab (three horizontal lines) on the bottom right corner

– Select Settings from the list

– Scroll down to the Google Assistant section and tap on it

– Under Assistant, select Phone or Voice Match

– Toggle off Google Assistant

Once you’ve turned off Google Assistant, you’ll no longer see the icon displayed on your screen or hear the Google Assistant voice response.

2. Turn off Google Assistant on iOS

If you’re using an iPhone, you need to have Google Assistant app installed on your device. Here’s how to turn off Google Assistant on iOS:

– Open Google Assistant app on your iOS device

– Tap on the icon in the bottom right corner to access your Google Assistant settings

– Tap on the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner to access the main menu

– Select Settings from the menu

– Tap on the Assistant tab at the top of the screen

– Tap on the Assistant device option

– Toggle off Google Assistant

Once you’ve disabled Google Assistant on iOS, you will no longer be able to access the feature through the app.

3. Turn off Google Home

If you’re using a Google Home speaker or display and you don’t want Google Assistant to be available, you can follow these steps to disable the feature:

– Open the Google Home app on your mobile device

– Select the device you want to turn off Google Assistant for

– Tap on the Settings icon

– Scroll down to the Device settings section and tap on More

– Scroll down to find the Google Assistant section

– Toggle off Google Assistant

Once you’ve turned off Google Assistant, you won’t be able to use voice commands to control your Google Home device.

In conclusion, turning off Google Assistant is a simple process on both Android and iOS devices as well as Google Home speakers and displays. If you find the feature intrusive or prefer not to use it, follow these steps to disable it and enjoy a less-cluttered experience on your device.
