How to Check If Someone Blocked You on Instagram

Spread the love

Instagram is undoubtedly one of the leading social networking sites that connects people from all over the world. Many users love to keep tabs on their friends, family, and even their favorite celebrities through the platform. However, amidst all the fun, there are times when conflicts with someone may arise, and one may end up getting blocked by a user. If you suspect that someone may have blocked you on Instagram, this article will guide you on how to confirm it.

1. Search For Their Profile

The first sign that someone may have blocked you is the inability to find their profile. When you search for them on Instagram, they will not appear on your search results. You can try using their username, full name, or even hashtags that they frequently use. If none of these searches return any results, then it could mean that the user has blocked you.

2. Check Your Messages

If you used to communicate with the user before, go to the DM section of your Instagram app and check if you can still see your previous conversations with them. If the user has blocked you, you won’t be able to see your previous messages with them.

3. Try to Follow Them

If you can find their profile and posts, try following them. If you find that you are unable to follow them, and the “follow” button changes to “followed” after a few seconds, it could mean that the user has blocked you. Additionally, if you try to visit their profile, you may receive a message stating that the profile is private or that you are not authorized to view it.

4. Use a Different Instagram Account

If you have another Instagram account or know someone else that can help, log in to it and search for the person that you suspect has blocked you. If you can find the user’s profile using the different account, then it is likely that they have blocked you from their account.

5. Find Out If They Have Deleted Their Profile

It is possible that someone quit Instagram altogether and deleted their profile. In this case, you won’t be able to find them on Instagram, except through other means like other social media sites, phone numbers, or email addresses.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
