Having a technology learning studio is a great idea for motivating and engaging students in powerful learning experiences. There are many ways in which a school can incorporate this idea, such as converting an old school bus into a learning location.

This article will discuss how schools and developers can turn an unused school bus into a functioning technology learning studio for students.

Clear Out the Interior and Design Your Technology Learning Studio

The first step in designing and creating a functioning technology learning studio is clearing out the old school bus’s interior. This means that the seats, luggage compartments, and railings should all be removed to make space for the new equipment and technology.

Once everything is out, you need to start thinking about how your technology learning studio will look once completed. In other words, you need to plan the design of your new technology bus. You will need small desks for the students, multiple chairs, lighting, and much more.

Purchase the Right Equipment

Once you have your school bus cleared out and a design is created, you need to start thinking about the equipment you will include. Additionally, you will need to consider how you will pay for the technology – will the school supply the funds, or do you have a sponsor? It is essential to keep in mind that purchasing multiple computers will be costly and try to stick to a budget.

You should also download and use apps and tools that can make the learning experience much easier and more convenient for the students. For example, Pedagogue is a social learning management system that allows students and teachers from all over the world to communicate and collaborate. Educators can use Pedagogue to organize and manage teaching materials, which provides students with a central location for accessing school work.

Think About the Content and How You Will Teach It

Your technology bus will only be successful if you carefully plan what content you will teach and how you will teach it. As we have already mentioned, various apps and tools can make managing teaching materials much more straightforward. More so, the equipment that you purchase should revolve around what you are planning on teaching the students.

Concluding Thoughts

A technology learning studio is a great idea for motivating and engaging students in powerful learning experiences. Educators and developers can easily make one of these studios by using an old or unused school bus.

Firstly, you will need to clear out the interior of the bus and plan the layout. You should then think about what equipment you will purchase and how you will be paying for that technology. Lastly, teachers will need to plan what they will teach the students and how they will teach it.
