Installing a Ring doorbell is a great way to enhance your home security system. With a Ring doorbell, you can see and communicate with anyone who comes to your door, even when you’re not home. However, if you don’t have an existing doorbell, installing a Ring doorbell can seem daunting. In this article, we will guide you through the process of installing any Ring doorbell without an existing doorbell.

What You Will Need

Before starting the installation process, you will need to gather a few things. Here is a list of items you will need:

– A Ring doorbell of your choice

– A set of small screwdrivers

– A drill and drill bits

– A measuring tape

– A level

– A power drill

– A pencil

Step-by-Step Installation Process

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install any Ring doorbell without an existing doorbell:

Step 1: Determine the location

First, determine where you want to install the Ring doorbell. It should be placed at a height of 48 inches, so you’ll need to measure and locate this before beginning installation.

Step 2: Attach the mounting bracket

Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using the screws provided in the Ring doorbell kit. Make sure that the bracket is level.

Step 3: Drill holes

Using the drill, drill holes where the screws are located on the mounting bracket.

Step 4: Run wires through the bracket

If your Ring doorbell has wires, thread the wires through the bracket.

Step 5: Connect the doorbell wires

Connect the wires to the back of the Ring doorbell. If you have a wireless Ring doorbell, this step isn’t necessary.

Step 6: Attach the Ring doorbell to the bracket

Slide the Ring doorbell onto the bracket and secure it with the screws provided in the kit.

Step 7: Download the Ring app

Download the Ring app on your smartphone or tablet. This app will allow you to see and communicate with anyone who comes to your door and make any necessary adjustments to your settings.

Step 8: Test the doorbell

Test the doorbell to ensure that it’s working correctly.

Tips to Consider

Here are some tips to keep in mind when installing your Ring doorbell:

– Make sure that your Wi-Fi network is working properly, as the doorbell will need to connect to it to operate.

– If your Ring doorbell uses wires, ensure that your wiring system is compatible with the Ring doorbell before purchasing

– If you need additional assistance, consult the Ring website or customer support for help.

Conclusion

Installing a Ring doorbell without an existing doorbell may seem challenging at first, but with a little patience and the right tools, it can be done. The Ring doorbell is an excellent addition to your home security system and can give you peace of mind knowing that you can see and communicate with anyone who comes to your door. Follow the steps above and enjoy your new Ring doorbell!
