FaceTime is a popular video calling app for iOS and Mac devices, allowing you to connect with friends, family, and colleagues anywhere in the world. One of the latest features that Apple has introduced is Group FaceTime, allowing you to chat with up to 32 participants simultaneously on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

If you’re new to Group FaceTime, you might be wondering how to get started. Don’t worry; it’s simple and easy! In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to start a Group FaceTime call on your iOS and Mac devices.

Group FaceTime on iPhone and iPad

With iOS 12 or later, Group FaceTime is integrated into your iPhone’s FaceTime app, here’s how to use it:

Step 1: Open FaceTime app

Launch the FaceTime app from your iPhone or iPad’s home screen. It can be recognized by a green icon with a white video camera in the middle.

Step 2: Select ‘Create a New Group’

Once you’ve launched the app, tap on the ‘+’ icon located at the top right corner of the screen, and select ‘Create a New Group.’

Step 3: Add Participants

Now, you can start adding participants to your Group FaceTime call by tapping the ‘+’ icon and choosing your desired contact(s). You can add up to 32 people in a single call.

Step 4: Initiate a Call

Once you’ve added all the contacts, tap the ‘Video’ button to initiate a Group FaceTime call.

Step 5: End the Call

To end the Group FaceTime call, simply click the red phone icon located at the center of your screen.

Group FaceTime on Mac

Group FaceTime is also available on Mac running the latest macOS Mojave or later. Here’s how you can use it.

Step 1: Open FaceTime app

Open the FaceTime app by clicking on the icon located in your dock or by searching for it through Spotlight.

Step 2: Select ‘New Group’

Click on the ‘New Group’ button located at the top left corner of the app window.

Step 3: Add Participants

After clicking the ‘New Group’ button, you will see a prompt asking you to enter the participants’ names or phone numbers you’d like to chat with. Select the ‘Add Person’ button and keep adding participants to your call.

Step 4: Initiate a Call

Once you’ve added all the contacts, click the ‘Video’ button to start a Group FaceTime call.

Step 5: End the Call

To end the Group FaceTime call, click the ‘red phone’ icon located at the center of your screen.

Final Thoughts

Group FaceTime is a convenient way to connect with multiple people at once, whether it’s for a business meeting, family gathering, or friend’s get-together.
