The “Input Signal Out of Range” error is a common issue that can occur when using a computer with a monitor. This error message indicates that the monitor is unable to display the input signal from the computer. When this error happens, the screen usually goes blank, and an error message is displayed.

If you are experiencing this error, don’t worry, as there are several ways to fix it. In this article, we will provide you with some tips on how to fix the “Input Signal Out of Range” error in Windows.

1. Check the Monitor’s Resolution

One of the most common causes of the “Input Signal Out of Range” error is an unsupported display resolution. To fix this, you may have to adjust the screen resolution of the computer. To do this, right-click on the desktop and select “Display settings.” From there, you can adjust the screen resolution to a compatible setting.

2. Check the Monitor’s Refresh Rate

Another cause for this error message could be the refresh rate of the monitor. If the monitor refresh rate is incompatible with the computer’s refresh rate, the error message may appear. To fix this, you can try reducing the refresh rate of the computer. You can do this by following the steps below:
– Right-click on the desktop and select “Display settings.”
– Click on “Advanced display settings” and then click on the “Display adapter properties” link.
– Navigate to the “Monitor” tab, and then select a lower refresh rate.

3. Check the VGA or HDMI Cable

Another reason for the Input Signal Out of Range error could be a problem with the VGA or HDMI cable connecting the monitor to the computer. The problem could be as simple as a loose cable connection. Ensure the VGA or HDMI cable is firmly connected on both ends.

4. Try Safe Mode

If the above fixes haven’t resolved the issue, you can try booting your computer in safe mode. Safe mode only runs essential files and drivers, which can help pinpoint any software conflicts or driver issues. To do this, reboot your computer and press F8 repeatedly as it’s booting. Then select “Safe Mode” from the options. If you don’t encounter the “Input Signal Out of Range” error, it may mean that a recently installed driver or software is causing the problem.
