Microsoft Outlook is one of the most popular email clients used across the globe. It makes sending and receiving emails convenient and efficient. However, there are many times when we wish we could edit a received email in Outlook. Maybe we made a typo, or forgot to include some important information. Whatever the reason may be, editing a received email in Outlook is a simple process.

Here are the steps to edit a received email in Outlook:

Step 1: Open your Outlook account and go to your Inbox. Find the email that you want to edit.

Step 2: Double-click on the email to open it in a new window.

Step 3: You will see an option for “Actions” in the top menu bar. Click on it and select “Edit Message” from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: The original email will now open in a new window, and you will be able to edit the email just like you would any other document.

Step 5: Make the necessary changes to the email. You can add or delete text, change the subject line, or even include a new attachment.

Step 6: After you have made the necessary changes, click on “File” in the top menu bar and select “Save” from the drop-down menu.

Step 7: Once you have saved the changes, close the email window. Outlook will ask you if you want to save the changes. Click “Yes” to save the edited message.
It is important to note that when you edit a received email in Outlook, the recipient will not receive a notification of the changes you made. Therefore, be sure to double-check your changes before saving the edited email.

In conclusion, editing a received email in Outlook is a simple and straightforward process. With the above steps, you can quickly edit a received email, fix any errors, and ensure that your message is clear and concise. By taking advantage of this feature, you can save time and avoid sending multiple emails to correct a mistake or include additional information.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
