What Is Nest Aware, and Is It Worth It?

Are you someone who likes to know what’s going on in and around your home even when you’re not there? Nest Aware is a subscription service that adds additional features to Nest cameras, Nest Hello video doorbells, and Nest Secure alarm systems.

Before we dive into whether or not Nest Aware is worth the subscription fee, let’s first take a look at what the service offers. With Nest Aware, you receive access to continuous video recording, intelligent alerts, and personalized notifications. This means that you don’t miss a thing, and you’re immediately alerted of any movement that the camera detects. You also get activity zones, which allow you to define specific areas in your camera’s view that you want to keep an eye on.

In addition to these features, Nest Aware also offers facial recognition. This means that the system can distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar faces and then notify you accordingly. This feature can be especially useful for parents who want to keep an eye on when their kids arrive home from school or for pet owners who want to know when their furry friend is in the picture.

One of the most significant advantages of Nest Aware is the ability to store video footage. Without the subscription, the Nest camera only stores footage for a few hours at a time. With the subscription, you get access to up to 30 days of video history. This can be incredibly useful in the event of a break-in or to simply review past activity to ensure your home is safe and secure.

So, is Nest Aware worth the subscription? It ultimately depends on your lifestyle and needs. If you’re someone who wants to keep a watchful eye on your home and have access to video footage for an extended amount of time, then Nest Aware is absolutely worth it. The added features of facial recognition and activity zones are also highly beneficial for those who want to customize their home security experience further.

However, for those who are content with just receiving occasional motion notifications, Nest Aware may not be a necessity. It does come at a cost, with prices starting at $6 per month for one camera or $12 for up to 10 cameras, but it’s worth it if added security and peace of mind are important to you.

Overall, Nest Aware offers additional features and subscription benefits that can help personalize and enhance your home security experience. So if you’re looking for added peace of mind and attentive home monitoring, it’s definitely worth considering.
