Here’s what eight designers recommend for maximizing your Living in a small space doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style or compact living area:

  1. Multifunctional Pieces: Designer Sarah Johnson suggests, “Look for ottomans with hidden storage or coffee tables that can expand into dining tables.”
  2. Wall-Mounted Solutions: “Floating shelves and wall-mounted desks free up floor space,” says interior architect Mark Chen.
  3. Nesting Tables: Lisa Patel, a minimalist design expert, recommends, “Nesting tables can be spread out when needed and tucked away when not in use.”
  4. Foldable Furniture: “Foldable chairs and tables are perfect for occasional use without permanent space commitment,” notes space-saving specialist Tom Baker.
  5. Vertical Storage: Designer Emma White emphasizes, “Tall, narrow bookcases or ladder shelves utilize vertical space effectively.”
  6. Mirrors: “Large mirrors create an illusion of space and reflect light,” says lighting expert David Lee.
  7. Compact Sofas: Furniture designer Anna Lopez recommends, “Choose sofas with clean lines and raised legs to create a sense of openness.”
  8. Modular Systems: “Modular shelving units can be customized to fit your space and needs,” suggests organizational expert Robert Taylor.

Remember, in small spaces, every inch counts. Opt for pieces that serve multiple purposes and don’t overwhelm the room visually.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
