As more people shift towards online streaming services, Netflix has become one of the most popular platforms for entertainment. The streaming giant is not only known for its quality TV shows and movies but also for its collection of engaging and informative documentaries.

Here are ten of the best documentaries on Netflix that you don’t want to miss:

1. Making a Murderer: This 10-part true-crime documentary follows the story of Steven Avery, a man from Wisconsin who was twice convicted of heinous crimes. The series scrutinizes the evidence presented in the cases and questions whether the right person is behind bars.

2. The Great Hack: The Great Hack is a 2019 documentary that examines the Cambridge Analytica scandal, one of the largest data breaches in history. The film illustrates how the personal information of millions of Facebook users was harvested and used to influence the outcome of the 2016 US Presidential Election.

3. Our Planet: Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, Our Planet takes viewers on a breathtaking journey to explore the planet’s diverse natural habitats. The eight-part series showcases the Earth’s extraordinary beauty and highlights the importance of protecting it for future generations.

4. Wild Wild Country: This series recounts the bizarre, controversial, and violent story of the Rajneesh movement, a cult that took over a small Oregon town in the early 1980s. The six-part series includes interviews with former cult members, locals, and police officers involved in the conflict.

5. The Ivory Game: The Ivory Game is a documentary that shines a light on the global ivory trade, which fuels the poaching of African elephants. The film follows the stories of activists, rangers, and conservationists working to protect the endangered animals and stop the illegal trade.

6. 13th: Directed by Ava DuVernay, 13th presents an investigation of the US prison system and how it perpetuates racial inequality. The documentary highlights how the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution has been used to maintain a system of modern-day slavery in America.

7. Fyre: Fyre is a 2019 documentary about the disastrous Fyre Festival, an ultra-luxurious music festival that was meant to take place on a remote island in the Bahamas. The film tells the story of how the festival was organized, marketed, and executed, only to result in a catastrophic failure.

8. Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown: Parts Unknown was a travel and food documentary series hosted by the late Anthony Bourdain. The series explores different cultures and cuisines from around the world and offers a unique perspective on the human experience.

9. Blackfish: Blackfish tells the story of Tilikum, a performing killer whale that was involved in the deaths of several people while in captivity. The documentary examines the ethics of holding wild animals in captivity and the psychological impact that it has on them.

10. The Keepers: The Keepers is a true-crime documentary series that investigates the murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik, a beloved nun and high school teacher in Baltimore. The series takes a deep dive into the alleged cover-up of her murder by the Catholic Church and explores the possible connection between her death and sexual abuse within the church.

In conclusion, Netflix has an impressive collection of documentaries that cater to different interests and subjects. From true crime to environmental issues, these ten documentaries offer both entertainment and knowledge to viewers of all backgrounds
