Windows 11 has a lot of new features and improvements that users will find useful. However, some users may have noticed that their Start Menu is not working properly, which can be a frustrating experience. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix this issue and get your Start Menu back up and running.

Check if Start Menu is set to full screen

If the Start Menu is not working in Windows 11, the first thing you should do is check if it is set to full screen or not. To do this, right-click on the Start Menu button and select “Settings.” Next, click on “Personalization” and then “Start,” and check if the “Use Start full screen” option is enabled or not. If it is turned off, simply toggle it on and see if that fixes the problem.

Restart Windows Explorer

Sometimes Windows Explorer can become unresponsive, which can cause issues with the Start Menu. To restart the Windows Explorer process, right-click on the taskbar and select “Task Manager.” Next, click on the “Processes” tab and look for “Windows Explorer” in the list of running processes. Right-click on it and select “Restart.” This will refresh the Windows Explorer process and may fix the Start Menu issue.

Restart your PC

If the Start Menu is still not working after trying the above methods, you may need to restart your PC. This will clear out any temporary files and processes that may be causing the issue. Simply click on the Start Menu button or press the Windows key on your keyboard, and then click on the power icon and select “Restart.”

Check for Windows Updates

If the Start Menu is still not working after restarting your PC, you may need to check for Windows updates. Microsoft may release a patch or update that addresses the issue, so it’s worth checking if any are available. To do this, click on the Start Menu button or press the Windows key on your keyboard, and then click on the “Settings” icon. Next, click on “Updates & Security,” and then click on “Windows Update” and check for updates.

Reset the Start Menu

If none of the above methods work, you may need to reset the Start Menu. This will remove any customizations you have made to the Start Menu, but it will also fix any issues that may be causing it to not work properly. To reset the Start Menu, right-click on the Start Menu button and select “Windows PowerShell (Admin).” Next, type the command “Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}” (without quotes) and hit enter. This will reset the Start Menu and should fix any issues that were causing it to not work properly.

In conclusion, if your Start Menu is not working in Windows 11, there are several ways to fix it. You can check if it is set to full screen, restart Windows Explorer, restart your PC, check for Windows updates, or reset the Start Menu. By following these methods, you should be able to fix the Start Menu issue and get back to using Windows 11 without any problems.
