Mouse acceleration is a feature that can make your mouse movements fast or slow depending on how you move the mouse. While some people might prefer this feature, it can be distracting or even frustrating for others. If you are one of those people who find mouse acceleration annoying, you’ll be happy to know that you can turn it off in Windows 10 and 11.

Here are the steps you need to follow to turn off mouse acceleration in Windows 10 and 11:

Method 1: Using the Mouse Properties

1. Click on the Start icon on the bottom left of the taskbar.

2. Type “Mouse” in the search bar and hit Enter.

3. Click on “Additional mouse options”.

4. Click on the “Pointer Options” tab.

5. Under the “Motion” section, uncheck “Enhance pointer precision”.

6. Click on “Apply” and then “OK”.

Method 2: Using the Registry Editor

1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

2. In the Run dialog box, type “regedit” and hit Enter.

3. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse

4. Find the entry titled “MouseSensitivity”.

5. Right-click the entry, select “Modify” and change the value data to “0”.

6. Click on “OK” to save the changes.

Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
