As a Facebook user, you may have noticed that the social media platform is full of sounds, from notifications that pop up with a “ping” to videos that play automatically with background music. While some people may find these sounds helpful, others may find them distracting, irritating, or even disruptive. However, the good news is you can turn off Facebook sounds quickly and easily. Below, we’ll outline a few steps that you can follow to put your Facebook account on silent.

Step 1: Access Your Facebook Settings

The first thing you need to do to turn off Facebook sounds is to access your account’s settings. To do this, log in to your account using your desktop or mobile device and navigate to the menu icon that appears as three horizontal lines on the top right side of the screen (for desktop users) or bottom right side of the screen (for mobile users).

Step 2: Locate the Sound Settings

Once you have accessed the Facebook settings menu, you need to look for the sound settings option. For desktop users, this is usually found under the “Settings & Privacy” section located in the drop-down menu. For mobile users, this option may be located under “Settings & Privacy” or “Settings” depending on your device’s operating system.

Step 3: Select Your Email Notification Settings

Once you have located the sound settings, the next thing you need to do is select your email notification settings. Here, you can choose to either turn off all Facebook sounds or select which sounds to stop hearing. You can also choose to receive sound notifications for specific items such as birthdays or friend requests.

Step 4: Turn Off Any Other Sounds

In addition to email notification, Facebook also offers various sounds for other features like video autoplay, Messenger notifications, and Live Videos. To turn off these sounds, go back to the main settings menu and review the various options to see which sound settings you would like to change. You can always change your settings at any time if you decide you want to hear the sounds again.

In conclusion, turning off Facebook sounds is a simple and effective way to have a more peaceful and focused experience on the social media platform. By following the steps outlined above, you can quickly and easily turn off any sounds that may be causing you any inconvenience. However, note that some sounds may also alert you to a new message or comment, so adjust your settings accordingly to make sure you don’t miss anything important.
