As technology continues to advance, the need for sharing files between different devices over a network becomes more prevalent. Sharing files between Android and Windows devices has become increasingly popular. In this article, we will be discussing how to share files between Android and Windows on your network.

Before we dive into the steps, let’s first understand what exactly is meant by “sharing files.” Sharing files is the act of allowing another device connected to a network to access the files present on your device. This is useful when multiple devices need to access the same files, or when transferring files from one device to another is needed.

Now, let’s move on to the steps on how to share files between Android and Windows devices:

1. Connect your Android device to the same network as your Windows device

Make sure that both your Android and Windows devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This is important for the devices to communicate with each other.

2. Enable File Sharing on your Windows device

To enable file sharing on your Windows device, click on the Windows button and search for “Network and Sharing Center.” From there, click on “Change advanced sharing settings” and select “Turn on file and printer sharing.” Click on “Save changes” to enable file sharing on your Windows device.

3. Download a File Explorer app on your Android device

To access shared files on your Windows device from your Android device, you will need to download a file explorer app on your Android device. An example of a file explorer app is ES File Explorer.

4. Access your shared folders on your Windows device

On your Windows device, navigate to the folder(s) that you want to share. Right-click on the folder and select “Properties.” From there, select the “Sharing” tab and then click on “Advanced Sharing.” Check the box that says “Share this folder” and click on “Permissions” to set the permissions for the shared folder. Click on “OK” to apply the changes.

5. Access the shared files from your Android device

Open the file explorer app on your Android device and select “Network” from the options. Select your Windows device from the list and enter your Windows login credentials when prompted. You should now be able to access the shared folders and files on your Windows device from your Android device.

In conclusion, sharing files between Android and Windows devices is a simple process that anyone can do. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily share files between your Android and Windows devices on your network. This makes it easier for you to access files across devices and to transfer files from one device to another without the hassle of cables and wires.
