As the world of video gaming has grown, the Atari 2600 has become a distant memory for many. However, for some, owning a piece of gaming history is a dream come true. The Atari 2600 was one of the first home gaming consoles to hit the market, and the games it produced are now worth a lot of money to collectors.

Here are some of the insanely rare and valuable Atari 2600 games you wish you owned.

1. Air Raid – Released in 1984, Air Raid is one of the rarest Atari 2600 games ever made. Only a handful of copies were ever produced, and each cartridge is now worth thousands of dollars. The game involves defending your base from enemy aircraft, and it’s a must-have for any serious collector.

2. Red Sea Crossing – This game was released in 1983 by a company called Inspirational Video Concepts. It’s a game about the story of Moses and the Red Sea crossing. Only a few copies of this game were ever produced, and it’s now worth a fortune.

3. Swordquest: Waterworld – Swordquest was a series of adventure games created by Atari in the early 80s. Each game was based on a different element, and Waterworld was the third and final installment. The game was never actually released, but a few cartridges were made and given away as prizes in a contest. If you’re lucky enough to find one, it’s worth a small fortune.

4. Pepsi Invaders – This game is a rare variant of the popular Atari game called Space Invaders. It was created as a promotional item for Pepsi in 1983, and only a few hundred copies were ever made. If you’re a collector, this game is a must-have.

5. Birthday Mania – Created in 1984, Birthday Mania was a game about planning a birthday party. It was only available through direct mail order and was never released in stores. Today, it’s one of the rarest Atari 2600 games ever made.

6. Sentinel – This game was released in 1982 by Atari and was one of the first to feature 3D rendered graphics. Only a few copies were ever produced, making it a highly sought after game for collectors. Today, it’s worth thousands of dollars.
