2. Park your car in a shaded spot: To avoid direct sunlight which would make the removal process difficult due to rapid drying of the adhesive.
3. Clean the windows: Use the soapy water solution to clean the windows to remove any dirt or debris that could scratch the glass during tint removal.
4. Heat the window tint: Heat one corner of the window using the heat gun or hairdryer and hold it approximately 2 inches from the surface moving it consistently to avoid extreme heating of a specific area.
5. Carefully lift a corner of the window film: Once heated sufficiently, use your fingernail or razor blade holder to carefully lift up one corner of the tint film.
6. Pull slowly: To avoid tearing or breaking off pieces of tint film during removal process, gently pull away from the lifted corner in a steady motion while continuing to apply heat simultaneously.
7. Heat as needed: Ensure proper heating around difficult areas like edges and corners while pulling off the film gradually.
8. Remove entire window film: Continue this process until all sections of tint have been removed entirely from one surface before progressing to the next window.
9. Clean adhesive residue: Once the film is off, spray soapy water onto the adhesive residue on the glass and let it sit for a few minutes to soften up.
10. Scrape away adhesive: Using the window scraper or razor blade holder, carefully scrape away any remaining adhesive from the glass without scratching it.
11. Wipe away excess residue: Once you’ve removed as much of the adhesive as possible, use a clean cloth to wipe down the window.
12. Final cleanse: Spray a generous amount of soapy water on the window and use a fresh cloth or sponge to thoroughly clean any remaining adhesive residues.
13. Rinse and dry: Finally, rinse away any cleanser or debris with water and use another clean cloth or towel to dry the window surface completely.
14. Inspect for perfection: After completing these steps, inspect your windows carefully to ensure that all tint film and adhesive have been successfully removed. Repeat these steps for each affected window until all film is removed.
