Virtual reality gaming has been becoming more and more popular in recent years, thanks in large part to the rise of standalone VR headsets like the Oculus Quest and the HTC Vive Cosmos. However, one downside of this technology is that certain VR games are released exclusively for specific headsets, meaning that if you don’t have the right hardware, you miss out on some pretty cool games.

Thankfully, there is a way to play Oculus-exclusive VR games on any SteamVR headset, and it’s all thanks to a program called Revive.

What is Revive?

Revive is a free program that allows you to play Oculus-exclusive VR games on any SteamVR headset, including the HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets from companies like Acer and Lenovo. It works by acting as a bridge between the Oculus software and SteamVR, allowing you to access and play games that would otherwise be incompatible with your headset.

How to Use Revive

Using Revive is relatively straightforward, but there are a few steps you’ll need to follow in order to get started.

Step 1: Install and Set Up Revive

The first thing you’ll need to do is download the Revive installer from the official website. Once the program is downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. After the installation is complete, start SteamVR and make sure that the Revive dashboard is showing up as a separate application.

Step 2: Install Oculus Software

Next, you’ll need to download and install the Oculus software onto your computer. This will allow Revive to access and launch Oculus-exclusive games. To download the Oculus software, head to the official website and click on the “Download App” button. Once the software is downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

Step 3: Launch Oculus Games

Once you’ve installed Revive and the Oculus software, you’re ready to start playing Oculus-exclusive VR games on your SteamVR headset. To launch an Oculus game, simply open the Revive dashboard and click on the game you want to play. The game will then launch and you can start playing right away.

Conclusion

Thanks to programs like Revive, VR gamers no longer have to miss out on cool Oculus-exclusive games just because they don’t have the right hardware. By following these simple steps, you can start playing all kinds of amazing VR games on your SteamVR headset, regardless of which brand you’re using. So why wait? Download Revive today and start exploring all the amazing VR games that are out there waiting for you!
