How to Set Your Location on Google Maps

Google Maps is a great tool for navigating unfamiliar areas, exploring new places, and planning routes. One of the essential features of Google Maps is the ability to set your location. Setting your location accurately helps the app provide you with accurate directions, nearby places, and real-time traffic information. In this article, we’ll show you how to set your location on Google Maps on different devices.

PC

Step 1: Open Google Maps on your computer.

Step 2: Click on the “Menu” icon in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Click on “Your timeline” from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: If it’s your first time using Your Timeline, you’ll need to enable location history to use the feature. Click on the “Turn on” button and follow the prompts to enable the feature.

Step 5: Next, click on “Today” or “Custom range” to choose the date you would like to set as your location.

Step 6: Click on the “Location” icon, and the map will display your location for that date and show you the places you visited.

Mobile Device (iOS)

Step 1: Open the Google Maps app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Tap on the “Menu” icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Select “Location sharing” from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: If it’s your first time using Location Sharing, you’ll need to enable it. To do this, select “Get started” and follow the prompts to enable Location Sharing.

Step 5: Select the duration you would like to share your location with other people.

Step 6: If you want to share your location with specific people, tap on “Add people.” You can also select the people you want to share your location information with from your contacts list.

Mobile Device (Android)

Step 1: Open the Google Maps app on your Android device.

Step 2: Tap on the “Menu” icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen.
