How to Organize Your Photos With Albums and Folders on an iPhone or iPad

In today’s digital world, most of us have hundreds or even thousands of photos stored on our iPhones or iPads. While it’s great to have so many memories at our fingertips, having them all jumbled together can make it difficult to find the ones we’re looking for. The good news is that organizing your photos with albums and folders is easier than you might think.

Step 1: Create Folders

The first step to organizing your photos on an iPhone or iPad is to create folders. Folders are a great way to group together similar photos, such as all the ones from a vacation, a special event, or even photos of your pets. To create a new folder, simply open the Photos app and tap the “Select” button in the upper-right corner. From there, tap the photos you want to add to the new folder, then tap the “Add To” button and select “New Folder.” Give your new folder a name and you’re ready to go.

Step 2: Add Photos to Folders

Once you have created your folders, it’s time to start adding photos to them. To do this, simply open the Photos app and tap the “Select” button. From there, tap the photos you want to move into a specific folder, then tap the “Add To” button and select the folder you want to add them to.

Step 3: Create Albums

In addition to folders, you can also create albums to organize your photos. Albums are similar to folders but have one key difference: they can include photos from multiple folders. This makes them ideal for organizing photos around a common theme, such as photos of your family or your favorite hobbies.

To create a new album, open the Photos app and tap the “Albums” tab at the bottom of the screen. From there, tap the “New Album” button and give your album a name. Once your album has been created, you can add photos to it in the same way you would with a folder.

Step 4: Use Tags

Another way to organize your photos on an iPhone or iPad is to use tags. Tags are keywords that you assign to your photos, making them easier to find later on. To add a tag to a photo, simply open the photo in question, tap the “Edit” button, and then tap the “Add Tags” button. From there, you can type in any keyword you want and then tap “Done” to save your changes.

Step 5: Delete Unwanted Photos

Finally, to further streamline your photo collection, it’s important to regularly delete any photos that you no longer need or want. To do this, open the Photos app and tap the “Select” button. From there, tap the photos you want to delete and then tap the “Trash” icon in the lower-right corner. You’ll be asked to confirm your decision, and then your photos will be deleted and removed from your device.
