How to Make the Taskbar Bigger or Smaller on Windows 11
The taskbar is an essential component of a Windows operating system. It provides quick access to frequently used applications and system tools. In Windows 11, the taskbar has been redesigned and is more customizable than ever before. One such customization option is to increase or decrease its size. Here’s how you can make the taskbar bigger or smaller on Windows 11:
Making the Taskbar Bigger
Step 1: If the taskbar is not already unlocked, right-click on it and choose “Taskbar settings” from the pop-up menu.
Step 2: In the “Taskbar settings” window, toggle on the “Lock the taskbar” option to unlock it.
Step 3: Hover your cursor over the upper edge of the taskbar until it turns into a double-headed arrow.
Step 4: Click and hold the left mouse button.
Step 5: Drag the taskbar upwards to increase its size.
Step 6: Release the mouse button once you have achieved the desired size.
Making the Taskbar Smaller
Step 1: Follow steps 1 and 2 from the previous section to unlock the taskbar.
Step 2: Hover your cursor over the upper edge of the taskbar until it turns into a double-headed arrow.
Step 3: Click and hold the left mouse button.
Step 4: Drag the taskbar downwards to decrease its size.
Step 5: Release the mouse button once you have achieved the desired size.
Note: If the taskbar becomes too small, the icons may be grouped together, and you will need to click on the “Show Desktop” icon to see all open windows.
