Msvcr71.dll is a dynamic link library file that is responsible for running several applications and programs on your computer. It helps to bridge the gap between drivers and operating systems while providing different application programming interfaces to software developers. However, sometimes you may encounter an error message saying that “Msvcr71.dll not Found” or “Msvcr71.dll Missing” when trying to run a program or application on your Windows PC. This error message can arise for several reasons, from corrupt files to compatibility issues. In this article, we will show you how to fix Msvcr71.dll not found or missing errors.

Method 1: Download and Install Msvcr71.dll Manually

One of the easiest ways to fix Msvcr71.dll not found or missing errors is to download and install the file manually. You can follow the following steps to do so:

Step 3: Download and install the package.

Step 4: Extract the Msvcr71.dll file from the package.

Step 5: Copy and paste the file in the directory where the program or application is located.

Step 6: Restart your computer and try running the program that was causing the error message.

Method 2: Use System File Checker (SFC) to Repair System Files

The System File Checker (SFC) is an in-built tool in Windows that allows you to scan and repair corrupted files on your PC. You can use this tool to scan for and repair Msvcr71.dll-related issues. Follow the steps below to use the SFC scan:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + X and click on Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 2: Type “sfc /scannow” (without quotes) and press Enter.

Step 3: Wait for the scanning process to complete.

Step 4: Once the scan is complete, restart your PC and check if the error message still persists.

Method 3: Reinstall the Program or Application

Another way to fix Msvcr71.dll not found or missing errors is to reinstall the program or application that is causing the problem. Follow the steps below to do so:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window.

Step 2: Type “appwiz.cpl” (without quotes) and hit Enter.

Step 3: Right-click on the program or application that is showing the error message and click on Uninstall.

Step 4: Restart your computer.

Step 5: Download and install the latest version of the program or application from the official website.

Step 6: Try running the program or application and check if the error message is resolved.
