Roku is a popular brand of streaming device that allows you to watch your favorite shows and movies on your television. The Roku remote app is a convenient way to control your Roku device and access its features. However, sometimes the app may fail to connect to your Roku device. This can be a frustrating experience, but it is relatively easy to fix. This article provides you with some tips on how to fix it when Roku remote app won’t connect.

Check Your Wi-Fi Connection

One of the most common reasons why the Roku remote app won’t connect is because of a poor or inconsistent Wi-Fi connection. To fix it, ensure that your Wi-Fi connection is strong and stable. Try turning your router off and on again or resetting it. This may help to stabilize the connection and enable the app to connect to your Roku device.

Update Your Roku Device

Another reason why the Roku remote app may fail to connect to your Roku device is outdated firmware. If your Roku device is not updated, it may not be compatible with the Roku remote app. To update your Roku device, go to your Roku device’s settings, and navigate to the “System” section. Choose “Software update” and select “Check now”. If there is an update available, download and install it.

Check for App Updates

The Roku remote app may also fail to connect if it is outdated. Ensure that the latest version of the app is installed by checking for updates in the App Store or Google Play Store. If there is an update available, download and install it.

Restart Your Roku Device

If your Roku device is not responding to the Roku remote app, try restarting your Roku device. This helps to refresh the connection to your Wi-Fi network and may enable the Roku remote app to connect. To restart your Roku device, navigate to the “Settings” section and choose “System”. Select “Power” and choose “System Restart”.

Restart Your Smartphone or Tablet

If you have checked your Wi-Fi connection, updated your Roku device, and ensured that the Roku remote app is updated, but it still won’t connect to your Roku device, try restarting your smartphone or tablet. This helps to clear any temporary glitches that may be preventing the app from connecting to your Roku device.

Conclusion

The Roku remote app is a convenient way to control your Roku device and access its features. However, it may fail to connect to your Roku device due to poor Wi-Fi connection, outdated firmware or app, or other temporary glitches. By following the tips provided in this article, you can easily fix it when the Roku remote app won’t connect.
