The halo braid is an elegant and timeless hairstyle that is perfect for any occasion. Its versatile nature makes it suitable for both casual and formal events, so it’s no wonder that it has become a popular choice among women of all ages. In this article, we’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to create your very own halo braid.

What You’ll Need:

– A hairbrush

– A comb

– Hair elastics

– Bobby pins

– Hairspray (optional)

Step 1: Prep Your Hair

Before starting your halo braid, make sure your hair is clean and tangle-free. Use a hairbrush to smoothen and detangle your locks, ensuring that there are no knots or snags.

Step 2: Part Your Hair

Using a comb, part your hair down the middle from the front of your head to the nape of your neck. This will create two equal sections which will be used to form the braid.

Step 3: Begin Braiding

Starting on one side, separate a small section of hair near your ear and split it into three equal sections for braiding. Begin a traditional three-strand braid by crossing the right section over the middle, followed by the left section over the new middle section.

Step 4: Start Adding Hair

As you continue braiding, gradually incorporate more hair from both sides into your braid. The trick here is to add equal amounts of hair as you go, so it forms a symmetric halo around your head.

Step 5: Complete The First Half

Continue braiding around your head until you reach the opposite ear. At this point, finish off the first half by securing it with an elastic band while leaving some loose strands.

Step 6: Braid The Second Half

Repeat steps 3-5 on the other side of your head, creating a mirror-image braid that will meet up with the first one.

Step 7: Connect The Braids

Once both braids have been completed and secured, gently remove the elastic bands and connect the two ends together by combining their loose strands. Secure this new braid with a fresh hair elastic.

Step 8: Pin The Halo Braid In Place

Adjust the position of your halo braid as necessary to ensure it sits evenly around your head. To keep it in place, secure the braid using bobby pins. You can also use hairspray to provide extra hold and control any flyaway hairs.
And there you have it! A stunning halo braid that is perfect for any event. Practice makes perfect, so don’t be discouraged if your first attempt isn’t flawless. With time and patience, you’ll surely master this classic hairstyle.
