If you are looking for a way to disable Windows Defender in Windows 11, then you are in the right place. In this article, we will discuss the steps required to disable Windows Defender in Windows 11.

Windows Defender is the built-in security feature designed to protect your computer from security threats, viruses, malware, and other malicious software. Although it offers excellent protection, some users may want to disable it for various reasons, such as using a third-party antivirus solution.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to disable Windows Defender in Windows 11:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command box.

Step 2: Type “gpedit.msc” and press Enter.

Step 3: In the Group Policy Editor, navigate to “Computer Configuration” > “Administrative Templates” > “Windows Components” > “Windows Defender Antivirus.”

Step 4: Double-click on “Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus.”

Step 5: Select “Enabled” and click “Apply” > “Ok” to save the changes.

Step 6: After this, Windows Defender has been disabled in Windows 11. However, you may see a notification that says Windows Defender is turned off and needs to be turned on.

Step 7: If you ever need to turn Windows Defender back on, follow the same steps and choose “Disabled” in step 5, or simply restart your computer.

It is essential to note that disabling Windows Defender may leave your computer unprotected from potential security threats, and it is advisable to use a reputable third-party antivirus solution to maintain maximum security.

In conclusion, disabling Windows Defender in Windows 11 is simple and easy, but it is essential to understand the risks involved before proceeding to do so. With the above steps, you can disable Windows Defender and protect your devices with a third-party antivirus solution.
