Yahoo mail has been serving millions of users around the world for more than a decade now. However, it is not uncommon for users to want to delete their Yahoo mail account permanently. Be it because of the privacy concerns, too much spam or an unreadable inbox. Whatever be the reason, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to delete your Yahoo mail account permanently.

Step 1: Backup Important Data

Before we move forward to delete the Yahoo mail account permanently, it is highly recommended to backup important emails and data that you may want to keep. Once you delete the account, you will no longer have access to any emails, passwords, or other data stored within the Yahoo mail account.

Step 2: Log in to Yahoo Account Termination Page

Once you have backed up your important data, log in to your Yahoo email account and visit the Yahoo Account Termination page.

Step 3: Read and Confirm Terms of Termination

Read the terms and conditions carefully before proceeding with the deletion of your Yahoo email account. Yahoo will ask for consent before proceeding with the account deletion, and you need to confirm the action for the process to be completed.

Step 4: Enter Email Address

Enter the email address you wish to delete and click the continue button.

Step 5: Authentication

For security reasons, Yahoo will ask you to verify your identity. You have to enter the account key sent to your mobile number or alternative email address registered with Yahoo.

Step 6: Final Confirmation

Once you have verified your identity, a confirmation message will appear on your screen regarding the account deletion. You need to click the Terminate This Account button to initiate the deletion process.

The deletion process may take up to 90 days for Yahoo to completely remove the account and all the stored data from its system. However, your account will no longer be accessible to anyone during this period.

Conclusion

Thus, deleting your Yahoo mail account permanently is an easy process if you follow these steps. Despite Yahoo’s popularity, sometimes it does not fit our needs, and if it’s time for you to move on, this guide will help you to do so. Just remember to Backup Important Data before proceeding with the above steps.
