WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging platforms worldwide, and it’s no surprise that many people use it to communicate in their groups. The platform is continuously rolling out new features to improve its user experience. One of these features is creating a poll.

Creating a poll on WhatsApp is an easy process that can be done on both Android and iOS devices. It can be used for fun, to get feedback from a group, or to make group decisions. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to use for the poll.

Step 2: Type out your poll question in the message box and then type the options you want to give. Make sure to separate each option with a comma. For example, if you are asking what to have for dinner, your message should look like this: “What should we have for dinner? Pizza, burgers, spaghetti.”

Step 3: Tap and hold the send button until the “Poll” option appears.

Step 4: Tap on “Poll” and then choose the duration you want your poll to run. You can choose between 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, or 1 week.

Step 5: Tap on “Create Poll” to generate the poll.

Step 6: Once the poll is generated, it will be displayed in the chat, and group members can vote by tapping on their preferred option.

Step 7: The poll will end once the duration is over, and the results will be displayed.

Creating a poll on WhatsApp is that simple. There are a few things to keep in mind when making a poll. Firstly, make sure your poll question is clear and easy to understand. Secondly, limit the number of options you give to avoid confusion. Finally, choose an appropriate duration for the poll.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
