How to Check an AirTag’s Battery Life
Apple’s AirTag is a small, circular device that can be attached to your personal items and can help you locate them using the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. While the AirTag uses a replaceable battery, it’s important to check its battery status regularly to ensure that it’s working properly. In this article, we’ll show you how to check an AirTag’s battery life.
1. Check Battery Status in Find My App
The easiest way to check your AirTag’s battery status is through the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Here’s how to do it:
– Open the Find My app on your device.
– Tap on the AirTag that you want to check.
– Scroll down to the “Battery” section.
– Here you’ll see the current battery percentage of your AirTag.
2. Using Siri
If you don’t have your iPhone close to you, then you can use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to check AirTag’s battery life. Here’s how to do it:
– On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, activate Siri by saying, “Hey Siri” or pressing the Siri button.
– Then ask Siri, “What’s the battery life of my AirTag?”
– Siri will then speak out the battery percentage of your AirTag.
3. Manually Checking the Battery
You can also check the battery life of your AirTag manually. To do this, you’ll need to remove the AirTag’s cover using a coin. Here’s how to do it:
– Hold the AirTag so that the side with the Apple logo is facing up.
– Place a coin in the groove around the silver back of the AirTag.
– Press down and twist the coin to the left to remove the cover. You’ll hear a clicking sound when the cover comes off.
– The battery will be visible inside. The battery type is a CR2032 coin cell.
– Check the battery health by looking at the battery label.
Note: Apple recommends changing your AirTag’s battery every year.
