If you are an iPhone, iPad, or Mac user, you are probably familiar with Siri: Apple’s intelligent virtual assistant. Siri is designed to help you perform tasks, get information, and answer your questions with ease. However, sometimes you may find the default Siri voice monotonous and want to change it to a voice that suits your personal preference. This article gives you a step-by-step guide on how to change Siri’s voice on your Apple device.

1. On Your iPhone or iPad:

Step 1: Launch the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Tap “Siri & Search.”

Step 3: Tap “Siri Voice.”

Step 4: Choose your preferred Siri voice. You can choose between American, Australian, British, Indian, Irish, or South African accents. You can also choose between male or female voices.

Step 5: Once you have selected your preferred Siri voice, exit the settings app, and test it by saying “Hey Siri” or pressing and holding the home button.

2. On Your Mac:

Step 1: Click on the “Apple” icon on the top left corner of your screen.

Step 2: Click on “System Preferences.”

Step 3: Click on “Siri.”

Step 4: Select your preferred Siri voice. You can choose between American, Australian, British, Indian, Irish, or South African accents. You can also choose between male or female voices.

Step 5: Once you have selected your preferred Siri voice, exit the system preferences app, and test it by saying “Hey Siri” or clicking on the Siri icon in the menu bar.

Note: Changing Siri’s voice may impact its ability to recognize your voice, especially if you have a strong accent. Ensure you speak clearly and slowly to enable Siri to understand you correctly.

In conclusion, customizing Siri’s voice to suit your preference is a straightforward process and does not take much time. Follow these simple steps, and your virtual assistant will be speaking your language in no time.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech.
