How to Block Text Messages on a Samsung Galaxy Phone
In today’s digital age, receiving unwanted text messages could be an annoyance or even a danger to one’s personal privacy. Luckily, Samsung Galaxy phones make it easy for users to block text messages from unwanted senders for their total peace of mind. Here’s a guide on how to block text messages on Samsung Galaxy Phone:
Method 1: Block a Number
1. Launch the Messaging App. Locate the messaging app on your Samsung Galaxy phone and open it.
2. Find the message from the sender you’re trying to block. Navigate to the message thread that has the sender’s phone number or contact information.
3. Tap and Hold the message. Tap and hold the message from the sender until the “Message options” menu appears.
4. Tap “Add to spam numbers.” Select the “Add to spam numbers” option from the menu to block the number.
5. Confirm the block. A prompt will appear to confirm that you want to add the sender’s number to spam. If you wish to do so, tap “OK.” If you want to cancel, tap “Cancel.”
Method 2: Block a Contact
1. Open the Contacts app. Head over to the Contacts app to access your list of saved contacts.
2. Find the Contact to be blocked. Navigate to the contact you want to block.
3. Tap on the contact name. Tap on the contact name to open details.
4. Select the three dots on the top right corner. Tap on the three dots icon located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
5. Select “Block Messages.” Select the “Block Messages” option from the menu to officially block the contact.
6. Confirm the block. A notification will pop-up on the screen, informing you that any SMS messages from this contact will be blocked. Tap “OK” to confirm the block.
You may also unblock previously blocked contacts by following the steps, but instead of selecting “Block Messages,” you need to choose the “Unblock Messages” option.
