Minecraft is a popular video game that allows players to create and explore virtual worlds. However, sometimes players accidentally delete their Minecraft worlds or lose them due to computer crashes or other issues. In such cases, having a backup is essential. In this article, we will discuss how to back up and restore deleted Minecraft worlds.

Backing up Minecraft Worlds

You can back up your Minecraft worlds in several ways. The easiest way is to use the in-game backup feature. Follow the instructions below to back up Minecraft worlds using the in-game backup feature.

Step 1: Open Minecraft and click on “Singleplayer” to view your saved worlds.

Step 2: Select the world that you want to back up.

Step 3: Click on “Edit” and then click on “Backup World.”

Step 4: Give your backup a name to distinguish it from your original world.

Step 5: Click on “Backup” to create a backup of your Minecraft world.

You can also manually create a backup of your Minecraft world by locating the world folder on your computer. The default location of the Minecraft world folder is as follows:

Windows: %APPDATA%\.minecraft\saves\

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves/

Linux: ~/.minecraft/saves/

Once you have located the world folder, simply copy and paste it to a separate location on your computer or an external hard drive, USB drive, or cloud storage. Keep in mind that manually backing up your worlds is a bit more difficult than using the in-game backup feature, so be careful to copy the files correctly and remember where you saved them.

Restoring Minecraft Worlds

If you accidentally delete your Minecraft world or lose it due to a computer crash or other issues, you can restore it from your backups. Follow the instructions below to restore your Minecraft world.

Step 1: Open Minecraft and click on “Singleplayer” to view your saved worlds.

Step 2: Click on “Create New World.”

Step 3: Enter the name and select the game mode that matches your backup.

Step 4: Click on “More World Options” and then click “Open World Folder.”

Step 5: Locate the world folder for the backup you want to restore and copy it.

Step 6: Go back to Minecraft and paste the world folder in the save directory.

Step 7: Reload Minecraft, and your old world should now be restored.
