GPU Fans Not Spinning? Here’s How to Fix It
For PC gamers, graphics processing units (GPUs) are an essential component for the smooth gameplay experience. However, when the GPU fans fail to spin, it can cause overheating and severely damage the device. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix it.
Firstly, check the power supply to make sure it is sufficient for the GPU. Some GPUs require additional power connectors, and if they are not appropriately connected, it can cause the fans to malfunction.
Secondly, check the fan speed settings on the GPU. The fans might not spin if the setting is set to silent or idle mode. By changing the settings to performance mode, the fans should start spinning automatically. This option can usually be found in the graphics control panel.
Another possible reason for the fans not spinning could be blocked or clogged fans. Fans can accumulate dust and debris, leading to overheat and malfunctions. Open the GPU and clean the fans with compressed air or a soft-bristled brush.
If none of these solutions work, it’s possible that the GPU fans are faulty and need to be replaced. GPUs can get worn out over time, and the fans are one of the first components to malfunction. Contact the GPU manufacturer or a certified technician for a replacement.
