Apple’s iPhone Live Photos feature adds an exciting aspect to photography with its ability to capture and animate a snapshot. It’s a feature that is now available on more recent iPhone models from iPhone 6s onwards. In this article, we will discuss everything there is to know about iPhone Live Photos.

What are Live Photos?

Live Photos are short snippets of video that contain a 1.5-second recording before and after a still image is taken. It essentially brings a photo to life with a video-like feel, complete with sound. The result is a fun, dynamic image that captures expressions, movement, and emotion that can’t be conveyed in still photos.

How to Take Live Photos

To take a Live Photo, simply open the camera app on your iPhone and find the Live Photos icon located at the top of the screen in the middle. The icon is a series of three overlapping circles. Next, aim your camera at your subject and tap on the shutter button to take a photo, and the iPhone will automatically capture the preceding and following 1.5 seconds of animation.

How to View Live Photos

To view your Live Photos, go to your Photos app and find the Live Photo you want to view. Next, long-press on the photo to see the animated effect. To turn this off or on, swipe up on the photo and toggle the Live Photo switch.

How to Edit Live Photos

You can edit your Live Photos much like a standard photo. Simply tap the “Edit” button, and you’ll be taken to a screen with a variety of options that you can use to adjust the image. Additionally, you can play around with the speed and duration of the animation.

How to Share Live Photos

Live Photos can be shared with friends and family, but they’re not supported on all devices. When sharing a Live Photo, it will appear as a still photo, and the animation will appear when long-pressed. The best way to share a Live Photo is to send it via iMessage, AirDrop, or iCloud.

Conclusion

Overall, Live Photos add an amazing dimension to photos, giving the viewer a look beyond just a simple still photo. With its animation and sound capabilities, it brings a picture to life, capturing special moments in time. Now that you know how to take, view, edit, and share Live Photos, what are you waiting for? Start snapping those photos!
