Can You Skip the Surveyor and Find Your Property Lines With LandGlide?

When it comes to finding your property lines, many people assume they need to hire a licensed surveyor to come out and physically mark the boundaries. However, with the advent of technology, there are now other options available that may save you both time and money. One of these options is LandGlide.

LandGlide is a mobile app that allows users to view property lines and other parcel data on their smartphone or tablet. The app pulls data from multiple sources, including county GIS (geographic information system) databases and satellite imagery, to create interactive maps that show property boundaries, ownership information, and other features of the land. Using the app, homeowners can easily identify the location of their property lines without the need for a surveyor.

So, can you skip the surveyor and rely solely on LandGlide to determine your property lines? The answer is, it depends. While LandGlide can provide a general overview of where your property lines are, there are limitations to what the app can do. For example, the data used by the app may not be completely up-to-date, and the boundaries shown may be approximate rather than exact. Additionally, there are factors that can affect the accuracy of the data, such as personal property that may have been encroached upon or overhanging trees and vegetation.

In some cases, using LandGlide to identify your property lines may be sufficient for your needs. For example, if you just want a rough idea of where your property ends and a neighbor’s begins, or if you’re planning a home improvement project that doesn’t involve building on or near the property line, LandGlide might be all you need.

However, if you’re looking for a definitive answer or if you’re involved in a dispute with a neighbor over property boundaries, it’s still recommended that you consult a licensed surveyor. A surveyor will be able to provide more accurate and legally binding information about your property lines, which may be important in situations where disputes or legal issues arise.
