Introduction

There’s nothing quite like a bowl of homemade ice cream to cool you down on a hot summer day. Making ice cream at home is also an enjoyable activity to share with friends and family. You don’t need fancy equipment or a culinary degree to create unique and delicious frozen treats. Here are four easy ways to make ice cream with milk.

1. No-Churn Method

Ingredients:

– 2 cups heavy cream

– 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Whip the heavy cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract together.

3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the sweetened condensed milk mixture until fully combined.

4. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.

2. Bag Method

Ingredients:

– 1 cup whole milk

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1/2 cup sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– Ice

– 1/3 cup salt (preferably kosher or rock salt)

Instructions:

1. Fill a large resealable plastic bag with ice and the salt.

2. In a medium-sized resealable plastic bag, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.

3. Seal the medium-sized bag securely and place it inside the larger bag filled with ice and salt.

4. Seal the larger bag tightly and shake vigorously for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture becomes thick like ice cream.

3. Mason Jar Method

Ingredients:

– 2 cups heavy whipping cream

– 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

– 16 oz Mason jar

Instructions:

1. Pour all ingredients into the mason jar and seal the lid tightly.

2. Shake the jar vigorously for 5 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened.

3. Transfer the mason jar to the freezer and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.

4. Using an Ice Cream Maker

Ingredients:

– 2 cups whole milk

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 3/4 cup sugar

– 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.

2. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for churning time (typically about 30 minutes).

3. Transfer the churned ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours before enjoying.

Conclusion

Now that you know four easy ways to make ice cream with milk, you can delight your taste buds with fresh homemade treats all summer long! Don’t forget to get creative by adding your favorite flavors and mix-ins like crushed cookies or fruit purees.
