11 Ways to Make Economy Feel Like First Class

If you’ve ever traveled economy class, you know it’s not always the most comfortable experience. But with a little planning and some inventive hacks, you can make your next trip feel like first class without spending a fortune. Here are 11 ways to make economy feel like first class.

1. Choose the right seat: Do your research ahead of time, and select a seat with adequate legroom and preferably a window for better views. Apps like SeatGuru can help you find the best seats on your plane.

2. Dress comfortably: Wear relaxed, comfy clothes that you won’t mind sitting in for hours. Consider wearing layers to easily adjust to changing cabin temperatures.

3. Bring your own amenities: Pack a small bag with essentials such as earplugs, an eye mask, travel pillow, and blanket to create a cozy environment.

4. Upgrade your headphones: Noise-canceling headphones can make all the difference when it comes to blocking out engine noise and chatty passengers. Invest in a pair or bring earplugs for some peace and quiet.

5. Curate entertainment options: Load up your phone or tablet with movies, TV shows, podcasts, or books before your flight so you’ll have plenty of choices for entertainment.

6. Pack snacks: Bring some of your favorite snacks to munch on during the flight instead of relying on limited in-flight options.

7. Stay hydrated: It’s essential to drink plenty of water while flying; consider bringing an empty water bottle that you can fill up after passing security.

8. Freshen up mid-flight: Pack facial wipes, hand sanitizer, toothbrush, and toothpaste in your carry-on bag for a quick refresh during long flights.

9. Bring a hot towel: Soak a small hand towel in hot water before boarding and store it in a ziplock bag. Use it during the flight to freshen up your face and hands, just like in first class.

10. Use a footrest: An inflatable or foldable footrest can make a big difference in your comfort level. Prop up your feet and stretch out to feel more relaxed.

11. Utilize your frequent flyer miles: Sometimes it’s possible to upgrade your seat using miles or credit card rewards instead of cash. Always check on your options during booking and consider searching for upgrade deals closer to travel dates.

With these tips, your economy seat will feel like a first-class experience. Bon voyage!
