The internet, also known as the world wide web, is a global network of interconnected computer networks. It is an ever-expanding infrastructure of information, that allows people worldwide to connect, communicate, and access a vast array of resources.

At its core, the internet is essentially a means of exchanging information between connected devices. These devices include computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices with internet connectivity.

The internet is made up of servers, routers, fiber-optic cables, and other networking equipment. All of these components work together to transmit data and information over vast distances and at incredibly fast speeds.

The internet is a vast collection of resources, including websites, apps, and other services that are available to users 24/7. The possibilities are endless with what the internet can offer. From entertainment to education and business, the internet has transformed the way we live our lives.

One of the most significant advantages of the internet is that it promotes communication and collaboration. It has reduced barriers to communication and allowed people to connect with each other, regardless of their location, time zone or language. It has made it possible for people to share ideas and collaborate on projects instantly, reducing the time and costs of traditional communication methods.

The internet offers a wide variety of services that allow us to explore different cultures, connect with people worldwide, find jobs, and shop online. Social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn have transformed the way people communicate with each other, and online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay have made shopping online more accessible and more convenient.

In short, the internet is an ever-evolving, all-encompassing platform that allows individuals worldwide to access a vast array of resources and up-to-date information. Its capabilities and advantages make it an essential technology that has transformed the world and will continue to do so in the future.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
