The Android status bar is a small strip at the top of your device’s screen that displays different icons and symbols. These symbols are often overlooked, but they can tell you a lot about your device’s settings, notifications, and connectivity. In this article, we will explore the meaning of some of the most common Android status bar symbols.

Battery Icon:

This symbol shows the remaining battery life of your device. When the battery is fully charged, it will show a green color. When the battery is low, it will indicate a red color. You can also see the percentage of your remaining battery life by pulling down your notification shade.

Wi-Fi Icon:

This symbol displays your device’s Wi-Fi connectivity status. When Wi-Fi is turned on, this icon will appear with a signal bar icon. A solid icon means that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, whereas a hollow icon shows that Wi-Fi is turned on, but no network is currently connected.

Bluetooth Icon:

This icon displays Bluetooth connectivity status. A solid icon means that Bluetooth is turned on, and your device is connected to another Bluetooth device. A hollow icon means that Bluetooth is turned on, but no device is currently connected.

Mobile Data Icon:

This icon displays your device’s mobile network connectivity status. A solid icon indicates that your device is connected to a mobile network, whereas a hollow icon shows that mobile data is turned on, but your device is not currently connected to any network.

Do Not Disturb Icon:

This icon displays that your device is in Do Not Disturb mode. In this mode, your device won’t receive any notifications or calls but allows alarms.

Alarm Icon:

This icon displays that an alarm has been set in your device, and it is scheduled to ring at a particular time.

Power Saver Icon:

This icon displays when you have turned on the power saver mode on your device. This mode helps to save your device’s battery life by reducing some functions to optimize the battery life.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
