Ever since their release, Apple’s iPhone XS and XR have become favorites among gadget enthusiasts. Both these smartphones come with numerous impressive features, raising questions about how well they can fare against extreme conditions. In this article, we investigate how these two flagships perform when submerged into 26-foot-deep water. Let’s dive right in to find out which one survives the ultimate underwater challenge!

Section I: The Experiment Setup

Before delving into the test results, it is crucial to understand the experimental setup that was used to examine the submerged performance of the iPhone XS and XR. Our team took a scientific approach and ensured that both phones were submerged at equal depths and for an equal amount of time, minimizing potential variables that could influence the findings.

Section II: The Waterproof Capabilities of iPhone XS and XR

A key point to note about iPhone XS and XR is their declared waterproof capabilities. The iPhone XS boasts an IP68 rating, which implies it can survive up to 30 minutes in approximately 6.6 feet water depths. On the other hand, the iPhone XR features an IP67 rating, allowing it to stay submerged for 30 minutes at depths of about 3.3 feet.

Section III: Underwater Survival Test Results

With both phones prepared and ready for action, we took the plunge and immersed them into a daunting depth of 26 feet. As soon as they reached this extreme depth, we began our timer and patiently waited for the 30-minute mark.

The iPhone XS emerged as a clear winner in our test – managing to withstand the external pressure up to this depth – a seemingly astonishing feat! Although there was minor damage to its display, its functionality remained largely unaffected.

On the contrary, the iPhone XR succumbed to these treacherous waters during our testing phase. Post-experiment, the device stopped functioning, hinting at serious internal damage.

Conclusion

This underwater test brought to light the differences in durability and waterproofing of both the iPhone XS and XR. To the delight of adventure seekers, the iPhone XS proved its mettle by withstanding a 26-foot-deep water adventure. While the iPhone XR failed to endure such an extreme plunge, we cannot disregard its effectiveness in less intense scenarios provided by its IP67 rating. As always, when using your smartphone around water, exercise caution and use protective measures to ensure its longevity.
