Folder Options in Windows 10 is a crucial aspect of customizing your system’s file explorer environment. This useful feature allows you to manage how menus, folders and files are displayed and accessed in the File Explorer interface. With the right settings enabled, you can have a more productive experience using your Windows 10 system. This article will guide you through some ways to open the Windows 10 Folder Options.

Using File Explorer Options

The easiest and most straightforward way to open the Folder Options in Windows 10 is by using the File Explorer Options. To do this, launch the File Explorer app on your computer by clicking on its icon on the taskbar. Once File Explorer is open, click on the “View” tab at the top of the window, then locate and click on the “Options” button. This will reveal a pop-up window where you can configure the folder options.

Using Control Panel

The Windows 10 Control Panel provides another way to access the Folder Options. To get started, click on the Windows icon at the bottom left of your screen, then type “Control Panel” in the search bar. When the Control Panel app appears, click on it to open it up. From there, click on the “Appearance and Personalization” option, then select “Folder Options.” This will take you to the Folder Options dialogue box where you can make some customizations about your folder settings.

Using Run Command

Another way to open Windows 10 Folder Options is by using the Run box. This is a slightly advanced method, so tread carefully if you’re not familiar with it. To launch the Run box, press the Windows key and the R key at the same time. Then type in “control folders” into the Run box and press Enter. This will take you straight to the Folder Options window.

Using Command Prompt

Using the Command Prompt can be a faster way to open Folder Options in Windows 10, especially if you spend a lot of time working with your system’s command-line interface. To open the Command Prompt window, press the Windows key + X combination from your keyboard, then select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu. Type in “control folders” and hit Enter, and the Folder Options window will appear.

In Conclusion

We’ve explored some ways you can access the Windows 10 Folder Options to customize your File Explorer to your liking. It’s worth noting that the options you configure here can greatly impact your productivity, so it’s important to take the time to adjust settings in a way that suits you best. Whether you use the File Explorer, Control Panel, Run Command or the Command Prompt, make sure you choose the option that works best for you.
