Google Meet has become a popular video conferencing tool, especially in the current pandemic situation where people are working from home. However, sometimes users have reported encountering issues with their camera on Google Meet. The camera may fail to work for various reasons, but there are a few methods to fix the issue. In this article, we are discussing some ways to fix Google Meet camera failed.

  1. Check the camera settings

Sometimes, the camera fails to work due to its settings. To check the camera settings, open the Google Meet app and click on the three dots at the bottom right of the screen. Click on “Settings” and then click on “Devices”. Here, ensure that the correct camera is selected. If the camera is not installed properly, make sure that it is enabled.

  1. Check for updates

One of the reasons for the camera to fail on Google Meet could be due to outdated software. Ensure that the Google Meet app is updated to the latest version. To check for updates, open the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and search for Google Meet. If an update is available, click on “Update” to install the latest version.

  1. Restart the camera

Sometimes, restarting the camera can fix camera failure on Google Meet. To do this, disconnect the camera from your computer or device, wait for a while, and then reconnect it. If this doesn’t seem to work, try restarting your device as well.

  1. Clear cache and cookies

Excessive cache and cookies on your device can lead to camera failures. Therefore, clearing the cache and cookies can solve the camera failure issue on Google Meet. To do this, go to your browser’s settings and clear all browsing data.

  1. Check device compatibility

Google Meet supports a wide range of devices, but some may not be compatible due to outdated software or hardware limitations. Ensure that your device meets the minimum requirements to use Google Meet.

  1. Disable extensions

Sometimes, browser extensions can interfere with the camera’s performance. Therefore, disabling browser extensions or plugins can help fix camera failure on Google Meet.
