DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) is a Windows utility tool that is used to repair corrupt system files. However, sometimes you may encounter an error message that says “DISM error 2”. This error occurs when there is a problem with the system file corruption or there is an issue with the Windows image. In this article, we will discuss some of the ways to fix DISM error 2 in Windows 11.

Method 1: Use Windows Update Troubleshooter

Windows Update Troubleshooter is a powerful tool that helps to resolve issues related to Windows updates. It can also fix DISM error 2 in Windows 11. Here’s how to use it:

1. Press the Windows + X keys and click on “Settings”.

2. Go to “Update & Security” and then click on “Troubleshoot”.

3. Next, click on “Additional troubleshooters”.

4. Finally, click on “Windows Update” and then click on “Run the troubleshooter”.

Method 2: Run SFC (System File Checker)

SFC (System File Checker) is another tool that helps to repair corrupt system files. Here’s how to use it:

1. Press the Windows + X keys and click on “Command Prompt (Admin)”.

2. Type “sfc /scannow” in the command prompt and press Enter.

Method 3: Use DISM commands

If SFC doesn’t work, you can try using DISM commands to fix DISM error 2 in Windows 11.

1. Press the Windows + X keys and click on “Command Prompt (Admin)”.

2. Type “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth” in the command prompt and press Enter.

3. If the command finds any issues, type “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth” and press Enter.

4. Wait for the process to complete and then restart your computer.

Method 4: Reinstall Windows

If all the above methods fail, you can try reinstalling Windows. However, this method should be your last resort as it will erase all your data.

1. Go to “Settings” and click on “Update & Security”.

2. Click on “Recovery” and then click on “Get started” under “Reset this PC”.

3. Choose “Keep my files” or “Remove everything” depending on your preference.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows.
