PDFs have become a widely adopted format for documents that need to be shared and viewed across different platforms. The nature of the PDFs being in a static format makes it typically harder to edit them. However, did you know that you can edit a PDF on your iPhone? That’s right! You don’t need to have access to a computer or a third-party app to make changes to your PDF files. With the Files app on your iPhone, you can do just that.

The Files app has been around since the release of iOS 11 and is one of the most useful apps on your iPhone. With this app, you can manage all your files, including documents, photos, and more, all in one place. Moreover, with iOS 13 and later, Files app comes with a built-in feature that lets you edit your PDF documents with ease.

Here’s how to edit a PDF on iPhone using the Files app:

1. Open the Files app on your iPhone. If you can’t find it, swipe down on the Home screen, then type “Files” into the search field, and tap the Files app icon.

2. Locate the PDF file you want to edit. If the PDF file is saved in your iCloud Drive, navigate to the iCloud Drive folder using the app’s sidebar.

3. Once you locate the PDF file, tap on it to open it. This action will launch the PDF preview.

4. Tap on the Share icon on the top-right corner of the screen. The Share icon is represented by a square box with an upward arrow in it.

5. In the Share Sheet, select the Markup option.

6. With the Markup tool, you can add text, highlight text, add a signature, shapes, and drawings to your PDF file. You can even add a new page to the PDF or delete a page from the document.

7. After making your changes to the PDF file, tap Done to finish editing your document. Then tap Save File to save the edited PDF file.

In conclusion, the Files app makes it incredibly easy to edit your PDF documents on your iPhone, without the need for a third-party app or computer. You can make all the changes to your PDF files directly from your iPhone, and save the edited file in the same location. With the Markup tool, you can add or remove text, drawings, signatures, and more. Editing and managing your PDFs is now possible and accessible from your iPhone. So, next time you need to make some quick modifications to your PDF file, use the Files app on your iPhone, and you’ll be done in no time.
