Using Interactive Whiteboards to Create a Collaborative Classroom

The continuous evolution of tech has resulted in apps to help educators deliver dynamic lesson content and enable learners to retain more information. Educators are already starting to find even more ways for pupils to learn or express their creativity through increased opportunities within the classroom. Whether educators are developing project work, implementing distance learning, or developing classroom collaboration, cutting-edge tech is making a huge difference.

Modern, interactive whiteboards are being increasingly utilized within the classroom. Equipped with high-end zooms and up to 4K resolutions, whiteboards provide educators and learners with an all-new way to display classroom experiences or work. Here are a few ways that whiteboards can support collaboration and learning in the classroom:

  1. Thrilling projects

Live experiments are exciting for learners, but often there are learners at the back of the group who miss out as they can’t see the action. A whiteboard can act as an equalizer for experiment viewing. By projecting what’s happening via a large screen or interactive whiteboard, the whole class can take part in the experiment from their seats. This ensures all lessons are inclusive and gives learners a better opportunity to engage.

  1. User-Friendly instruction

Whiteboards help learners that may have missed a lesson catch up and provide the opportunity to recap on what was covered. Many whiteboards also have real-time recording capability, which allows educators to share the video content on their chosen media sharing platform, so learners who can’t make the class can still participate in the class. It’s highly likely that remote learning will become a more widespread place as tech and education practices evolve, and learners could well be skyping or zooming into classes from hundreds of miles away in the future.

  1. Charming visuals

Most whiteboards have a mechanical arm with a flexible neck, which makes them a great app or resource for educators presenting specific details like the steps to take to solve a math problem or the results of a test. The zoom function helps educators accentuate a specific part of what they’re presenting and discussing it with their learners. With a wireless whiteboard, an educator isn’t confined to one part of the room either – they’re able to move the tech to learners’ desks to showcase their work or to different areas of the classroom. Through increased involvement in the lesson, learners and educators can collaborate to improve the learning experience overall.

Concluding thoughts

It’s evident that the utilization of such tech within the classroom gives educators much more freedom and opportunity to enhance the teaching and learning process, and engage their learners. When collaboration is at the heart of education tech development, there’s no restriction to its power in transforming teaching and learning behavior.
