Introduction:

Sugar cookies are a classic and timeless treat that brings joy to young and old alike. When you think of sugar cookies, you might imagine a complicated process involving multiple ingredients and precise measurements. However, with this incredibly simple 3-ingredient sugar cookie recipe, you can whip up delicious cookies in no time! Perfect for holiday baking, school treats or just as an indulgent reward, these sugar cookies will be a hit for any occasion.

Ingredients:

– 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

– 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

– 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven: Before starting the cookie dough preparation, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). This will ensure that your cookies bake evenly.

2. Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and softened unsalted butter. Use an electric mixer or your hands to mix the ingredients until they form a soft dough.

3. Chill the dough: Although not necessary, chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes helps make it easier to handle when you’re ready to shape your cookies. Simply wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator.

4. Shape the cookies: Once your dough has chilled (or right away if not chilling), divide it into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. Flatten each ball slightly with your hand or use a cookie press or rolling pin to create uniform shapes.

5. Bake the cookies: Place your shaped sugar cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving about an inch between each cookie for spreading while baking. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes or until edges start turning golden brown.

6. Cool and enjoy: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling. Once your sugar cookies have completely cooled, they’re ready to be enjoyed as is or decorated with your favorite icing and sprinkles!

Conclusion:

This 3-ingredient sugar cookie recipe proves that baking doesn’t have to be complicated to yield scrumptious results. With just sugar, flour, and butter, you can create delicious treats for any occasion. These sugar cookies are perfect for personalizing with decorations or simply enjoying their classic simplicity. Happy baking!
