When it comes to exploring online data and collecting useful information, OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) tools can be a great help. These tools help investigators, journalists, and researchers to access valuable information in a legal and ethical way. From social media to public records, OSINT tools gather information from various sources to deliver valuable insights.

Resourceful OSINT tools are the ones that help users search and collect information from social media, dark web, web pages, and databases. Here are a few resourceful OSINT tools that you should know:

1. Maltego

Maltego is an excellent tool for visualizing and analyzing networks. It mainly deals with drawing entities (people, places, and things) and connecting them to show how they’re related. It gathers data from various sources to create a comprehensive picture, making it easy to analyze linkages.

2. Social Mention

Social Mention is a social media search engine that searches for mentions of a keyword or phrase. The tool aggregates data from multiple sources, including social media platforms, blogs, and forums, to provide a comprehensive analysis.

3. Wayback Machine

Wayback Machine is an archive of web pages, dating back to 1996. The tool enables users to access and retrieve historical data from web pages. This can be helpful in conducting research or investigating a person or an organization.

4. Followerwonk

Followerwonk is a social media analytics tool that provides comprehensive data on Twitter users. It allows users to track followers, analyze demographics, and engage with targeted audiences.

5. ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo is a tool that gathers information on individuals and businesses to build comprehensive profiles. The tool offers advanced search capabilities for filtering through collected data, thus helping users uncover relevant information.

6. Hunter.io

Hunter.io is an email-finding tool that helps users find verified email addresses associated with a domain name. With this tool, users can quickly get the professional email addresses of individuals or businesses.

7. Shodan

Shodan is a search engine for the Internet of Things (IoT). The tool scans IP addresses and returns results on the devices or systems that these addresses correspond to.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
