Resetting your computer can sometimes be the ultimate solution when you encounter issues like system crash, error messages, or even when you intend to give out your computer to somebody else.

Reset This PC is a feature on Windows 10 that promptly reinstalls your operating system to its factory defaults. This complete walkthrough will show you the steps to reset your PC without any hassle.

Step 1: Backup your Data

Before resetting your computer, it is essential to back up your data. You can copy your files and data to an external hard drive or any online storage account like OneDrive or Google Drive. You can also consider copying your data to a USB flash drive.

Step 2: Start Your PC and Go to Settings

After you’ve backed up your data, start your computer system and click on the “Start” button located at the bottom left of your desktop screen. Then proceed to the “gear” icon to access the settings option.

Step 3: Go to the “Update and Security” Option

After accessing the settings, click on the “Update and Security” option. Next, proceed to the “Recovery” tab located on the left-hand side of the screen.

Step 4: Choose Your Reset Option

When you click on the “Recovery” tab, under the reset option, select “Get Started” button to begin the process. Then, select either the “Keep my files” or “Remove everything” option; that is if you want to keep some of your files or remove everything.

Step 5: Begin the Reset Process

Once you’ve made your choice, click on the “reset” option to proceed with the resetting process. The resetting process may take some time depending on the speed of your PC, and the size of the files that need to be reinstalled.

Step 6: Reconfigure the Settings

When your PC has been reset, you will need to go through the initial setup process, which includes the selection of language, connecting to a network, creating a user account, and other necessary configurations for your PC.

It is important to note that resetting your PC will delete all third-party applications installed on your computer, so you will need to reinstall any applications after the reset process is completed.

In conclusion, resetting your PC can be an effective way to solve issues that may arise on your Windows 10 operating system. It can also be helpful when you want to give your computer out to someone else with the assurance that none of your data is left behind. With this complete walkthrough on how to Reset This PC, you can carry out the process easily and efficiently without fear of data loss.
