Microsoft Edge is a powerful browser that is increasingly being adopted by tech enthusiasts worldwide. It is a fast, secure, and intuitive browser that comes equipped with a range of powerful features that enhance the browsing experience. One of the most powerful features of Microsoft Edge is its ‘Flags’. These Flags are advanced features that developers can enable or disable to personalize their browsing experience. In this article, we will explore the various Edge Flags that can power-up your browsing.

#1. Force Dark Mode

The Force Dark Mode flag is an excellent option for users who prefer dark backgrounds on their browser. By enabling this flag, Microsoft Edge will allow users to convert web pages to darker shades, which can be easier on the eyes and reduce eye strain while using the browser at night.

#2. Tab Groups

Tab groups are an excellent way to organize your browser tabs and reduce clutter. This feature allows users to group tabs together and label them as per their preference, making it easier to find specific tabs later on. To enable tab groups, users need to open settings, search for ‘Tab Groups‘, enable the flag and restart Edge.

#3. Smooth Scrolling

The Smooth Scrolling flag is a must-have for users who value aesthetics and smooth transitions while scrolling. When enabled, this flag helps to achieve a smoother scrolling experience by reducing the screen jitters while scrolling web pages.

#4. Web OTP

The Web OTP flag helps users to streamline their sign-in process by automatically detecting One-Time Passwords from messages sent to their phone. Enabling this flag will enable Edge to detect OTP codes automatically, making it easier to sign in to your accounts without having to switch between multiple devices.

#5. Experimental Web Features

The ‘Experimental Web Features’ flag is a powerful option for users who are in search of the latest web technology. Enabling this flag will allow users to access new and experimental features that may not have been fully released. This feature is especially useful for developers who wish to keep track of emerging web technologies.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
