Lazy Girl Decorating: 5 Best Tips For Easing Into Spring

As the winter chill begins to thaw and fresh buds start peeking through the soil, it’s time to breathe some new life into our indoor spaces without much fuss. Spring is the perfect season for the lazy decorator who wants to refresh their home with minimal effort and maximum impact. Here are five simple tips to ease your home into the warmth and vitality of spring:

1. Swap Out Your Textiles: One of the easiest ways to make a significant change without much work is by changing your textiles. Swap out your heavy winter throw blankets and pillows for lighter and brighter versions. Floral prints or pastel colors can instantly lift the mood of a room. Opt for cotton or linen materials that feel breezier compared to winter’s woolly textures.

2. Bring Greenery Indoors: Nothing says spring like fresh green plants. If you don’t have a green thumb, no worries—there are plenty of low-maintenance options available, such as succulents, snake plants, or even artificial plants that look just as good as the real thing. Plants not only add a pop of color but also help purify the air.

3. Create an Impact with Wall Decals: If you’re looking to add some zest to your walls without committing to paint or wallpaper, wall decals are a fantastic option. They come in various designs and are easy to apply—and remove—so you can change them up as often as you like.

4. Repurpose with Purpose: Before you run out to buy new decor items, look around your house for pieces that can be repurposed or rearranged. An old jar can become a vase for fresh flowers; books can be stacked to create varying heights for displaying items; and moving furniture from one room to another can change your space’s flow and feel.

5. Lighten Up Your Space: Take advantage of longer days by maximizing natural light. Remove heavy draperies and replace them with sheer ones, clean your windows, and place mirrors across from windows to reflect light throughout the room. Adding twinkling string lights or swapping out lampshades can also make your lighting feel more appropriate for springtime.

Incorporate these effortless tips into your spring decorating plan, and transform your home into a serene sanctuary with the lazy girl’s touch: effortlessly chic with minimal effort!
